About Me I'm Stacy - an Army wife, and a stay at home mom to my 7 year old Lovebug. I spend my days homeschooling, doing at-home OT, gluten-free cooking, taking photos, reading, blogging, doing fun science projects, going on field trips & managing the home. I also enjoy sewing, scrapbooking & crocheting and need to make more time for those.
I'm passionate about my faith, my family, my friends, foster parenting, adoption (one day!), advocating for special needs, nature, the beach, and CHOCOLATE!

The U.S. troops have exited Iraq and crossed into Kuwait. Watch the video if you haven’t seen it. It’s awesome to see that gate close. The next step is HOME! I am so ready for my husband to be home again. Today marks the 219th day since I have seen him, and the closer we get . . . → Read More: All I want for Christmas is my Hubby!

This past weekend, Lovebug and I had the chance to attend a Strong Bonds retreat. It was put on by the Army Chaplaincy and was specifically for spouses & children of deployed soldiers. When Hubby was in AIT one of our vehicles had a flat tire, and I tried to change it myself. I failed miserably.
When he was at JRTC, Murphy (of Murphy’s Law) tried messing with our truck, but HE failed. I can only chalk that one up to a true miracle.
Now that Hubby is deployed, Murphy . . . → Read More: Take THAT, Murphy!

I need to just be real today. This past week has been hard for me. Not hard in the grand scheme of life, but harder than before. I miss my husband so much it hurts. From the time we found out about the deployment up until several weeks after he left, I have been fine. I . . . → Read More: Just being real

Yesterday, Lovebug and I went to the 4th of July celebration on post. It was one HOT, crazy day! I was able to reserve a spot ahead of time by paying $25 for a 10×10 foot space with a canopy tent already set up for me. SO glad I did – totally worth it! It’s been just over 3 weeks now, so how are we doing? I’ll tell you!
I hesitate to say it’s going well, because I don’t want anyone to think I don’t miss my hubby. I do. A LOT. At the same time, I’m getting to talk to him almost daily, and I just have to count . . . → Read More: Deployment: Week 3

Lovebug and I are doing a project this year while Hubby is gone. We are going to (attempt to) take a picture of each of us every day just living life so that we can share those with him and help him feel more involved. I missed getting one of me on one day, so expect . . . → Read More: Project Homefront Week 1

51 or so to go!
So far so good around here. There haven’t been any meltdowns around here – from me or from Lovebug.
I do miss my best friend so much and I wish I could be with him (or he with me, or both of us on an island somewhere), but we are getting . . . → Read More: Deployment Week 1

I can now officially tell you that the deployment has begun. Hubby is safe and sound, but way too far away from me. I miss him so much!
