I'm Stacy - an Army wife, and a stay at home mom to my 7 year old Lovebug. I spend my days homeschooling, doing at-home OT, gluten-free cooking, taking photos, reading, blogging, doing fun science projects, going on field trips & managing the home. I also enjoy sewing, scrapbooking & crocheting and need to make more time for those.

I'm passionate about my faith, my family, my friends, foster parenting, adoption (one day!), advocating for special needs, nature, the beach, and CHOCOLATE! More details about me & my family

Halloween 2011

October was a busy month for us! We participated in several Fall & Halloween activities and had so much fun! I can’t possibly share all of the pictures I took, but here are some of my favorite highlights!

While my parents were visiting, we went to a local pumpkin patch

Pumpkin Carving

Did you know if you wait too close to Halloween to carve your pumpkin, you will have a hard time finding one to carve?

Honest!  Even Walmart was out of pumpkins.  Can you believe it?

Fortunately for us, there is a little place on the side of the road not too far from post where they . . . → Read More: Pumpkin Carving

Ooey, Gooey, Sticky Fun!

We just got a fire pit (Thank you, Mom & Dad!) and were so excited to try it out for the first time.  I had a little trouble getting the fire going – actually I could get it going, it was *keeping* the flames going that was the problem.  I used a natural charcoal, and the . . . → Read More: Ooey, Gooey, Sticky Fun!

Fall Fun Times

AUTUMN IS HERE!!!

I’m sorry I’ve gotten behind in here.  I didn’t even do a post expressing my excitement that my favorite season is here! It’s just that we’ve been so busy having fun this past month.

At the end of September we had a wonderful time with my parents when they came to visit us here . . . → Read More: Fall Fun Times

Saying goodbye to Fall – Caramel Apple style!

Ever since Fall began, Lovebug wanted to make caramel apples.  I don’t know why since they are so simple, but for some reason we kept putting it off.  Probably because they are so simple.  This past Friday, just in time before Fall officially turns into Winter, we did it!

We used these caramel bits – no . . . → Read More: Saying goodbye to Fall – Caramel Apple style!

Beautiful Bliss!

Yesterday afternoon, our family spent a few hours in the backyard.

The weather was perfect…

For lounging…

For learning and exploring the senses…

For digging and excavating…

and studying the findings…

I spent my time reading a book and watching to make sure Little Bear didn’t try to eat an acorn.

What a wonderful . . . → Read More: Beautiful Bliss!

Happy Fall!

Last week, the kids and I spent 7 full hours at the Arboretum with some great friends.  No toys, no TV, just wide open spaces and lots of nature!! The girls were plenty entertained with all the hay, pumpkins, dirt, grass and sticks!

Here are some highlights!

My daughter made me breakfast!

Recently we had a beautiful morning with absolutely perfect Fall weather.  It was only made better by the fact that my daughter wanted to make me breakfast All. By. Herself!

So she did!

The Menu:

* Fruit Salad (apples, bananas, and fresh coconut!)

* Cereal

* String Cheese (for protein, you know!)

She cut up the apples & bananas all . . . → Read More: My daughter made me breakfast!

ParkQuest

Lovebug has been wanting to go on a quest for new, fun parks & playgrounds for some time now.  Going to parks & playgrounds has been something we’ve enjoyed as a family for years and now that our time in the metroplex is limited, we want to check out as many as we can before we . . . → Read More: ParkQuest

I love fall!!

The kids and I spent 2.5 hours at the park this evening and it was awesome!  If I had brought Little Bear some food with me, I would have stayed another hour. Unfortunately, all I had was the bottle and that just doesn’t cut it for dinner anymore! He’s a hungry man!

I have no pictures . . . → Read More: I love fall!!
