About Me

I'm Stacy - an Army wife, and a stay at home mom to my 7 year old Lovebug. I spend my days homeschooling, doing at-home OT, gluten-free cooking, taking photos, reading, blogging, doing fun science projects, going on field trips & managing the home. I also enjoy sewing, scrapbooking & crocheting and need to make more time for those.

I'm passionate about my faith, my family, my friends, foster parenting, adoption (one day!), advocating for special needs, nature, the beach, and CHOCOLATE! More details about me & my family

One year ago…how we’ve changed!

A year ago yesterday Hubby left on a bus after a very un-romantic goodbye for his first day back in the Army after being out for 13 years.  That day, and all the days that have followed, have changed our lives and definitely for the better.

All I want for Christmas…

This one came out while we were driving in the car today, so we were able to save it!

A much needed break

I’ll be back in a couple days with the rest of the Making Marriage Work tips, but I’m taking a break from most things for a couple more days because I have a guest! Science Detective Camp

A couple of weeks ago, Lovebug attended a “Science & Detective Camp” at a local children’s museum.  I had come across an ad for it in a local publication and I knew it would be perfect for her! She’s always been interested in detectives, spies, mysteries, and similar adventures.  This was a half-day camp for 5 . . . → Read More: Science Detective Camp

Swimming lessons

Lovebug has been taking swimming lessons this summer and is doing amazing!! Last month when she did the first round, I put her in Level 1 because I wasn’t sure how intense the levels here would be.  Almost right away, the teacher said that she really needed to be in Level 3 based on how much . . . → Read More: Swimming lessons

4th of July on Fort Bragg

Yesterday, Lovebug and I went to the 4th of July celebration on post.  It was one HOT, crazy day!  I was able to reserve a spot ahead of time by paying $25 for a 10×10 foot space with a canopy tent already set up for me. SO glad I did – totally worth it!  If Hubby . . . → Read More: 4th of July on Fort Bragg

Emily’s Birthday DAY

The day after her party was Emily’s actual birthday, so we got to celebrate twice!  She started the day at Science Camp just like the rest of the week, and then we spent the afternoon at home.  She had received a package from Daddy that she couldn’t wait to open!  He sent her some cute wooden . . . → Read More: Emily’s Birthday DAY

Emily’s 7th Birthday Party

We had Emily’s party the day before her actual birthday.  She wanted a swimming party, so we used the neighborhood pool on post.  They also have a clubhouse that we were able to use for free, and it was a perfect place to set up! We had to put down a deposit, but we got it . . . → Read More: Emily’s 7th Birthday Party

Spouse Retreat in Myrtle Beach

Emily and I had the privilege this past weekend of attending a retreat in Myrtle Beach! It was so fun! It was sponsored by the Army Chaplains and this one was for the spouses and kids of the deployed soldiers in our brigade.  They paid for the hotel, and most of the meals were provided . . . → Read More: Spouse Retreat in Myrtle Beach
