About Me I'm Stacy - an Army wife, and a stay at home mom to my 7 year old Lovebug. I spend my days homeschooling, doing at-home OT, gluten-free cooking, taking photos, reading, blogging, doing fun science projects, going on field trips & managing the home. I also enjoy sewing, scrapbooking & crocheting and need to make more time for those.
I'm passionate about my faith, my family, my friends, foster parenting, adoption (one day!), advocating for special needs, nature, the beach, and CHOCOLATE!

No, I’m not teaching her to fish for fish – that will be Daddy’s job!
I’m sure you’ve heard the following quote.
“Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime.”
This concept is a huge part of parenting. One of my jobs as a . . . → Read More: Teaching a child to fish

Last night I took 40 empty boxes out to the curb for trash pickup today. FORTY. I’m not even done. I have also taken out a total of 7 very large boxes full of packing paper. Boy, did those packers use a lot of paper! I mean, I’m glad because it kept most of our belongings . . . → Read More: Unpacking our life

As our cross country move is approaching, I’m finding myself overwhelmed with the amount of stuff that we have. I’ve already made several trips to the Salvation Army to purge some of it. We don’t have any LARGE things to get rid of, and I don’t want to take the time for a yard sale so . . . → Read More: Too much STUFF!

Rumor has it, when I was a child I often said “I do it myself!”. I was, and still am, pretty “in-de-pen-dent”. Just like the misfit dentist on “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” movie.
I also grew up hearing “You only fail, if you fail to try”. Well, the reality is that sometimes you fail even if you . . . → Read More: I want to be independent!

I probably shouldn’t admit this in public, but I haven’t done laundry in a week and a half! I re-use my after-shower towel for a few days before I wash it since I’m clean when I use it and I hang it up to dry. Lovebug has about 50 pairs of panties since her sensory issues . . . → Read More: I actually miss the laundry

I went to the grocery store this afternoon (sans kids thanks to Hubby’s grandmother!) to grab a few things. Ok, several things. However, I didn’t take my normal list which is an Excel spreadsheet with each item listed next to how much it costs (rounded to the dollar, I’m not that neurotic!). I also didn’t take . . . → Read More: I blew it!

I read this post by Pioneer Woman the other day, and felt a twinge of nostalgia. I’ve always loved Mason jars, and similar glass jars, bowls, etc. I love looking at antique stores at the old milk glass or depression glass and seeing all the beautiful colors, textures, and shapes. I don’t own much, but . . . → Read More: Bringing back the Mason jars!
